Our Process of Restoration includes:

Replace pulleys, cords and adjust the weight:
In this part of the work we carefully remove staff and parting beads which hold the windows in place. We replace pulleys and sash cords with traditional wax sash cord and adjust the weight to balance the windows.

Draft proofing windows:
We replace staff and parting beads. New staff and parting beads are brushed and supply draught exclusion. The meeting rail of the bottom sash is routed to accept the pile carrier.

Rotten damaged wood repairing:
Repairing of the windows is kept with its architectural style, and it enriches both the value and the look of the property. Usual repairs include replacement window sills, conservation repairs, replacement bottom and meeting rails, repairs of pulley stiles and linings and general wood decay. We can't repair cosmetic damage caused by wear and tear.

Remove old paint:
We strip paint from windows and all wooden parts of the frame inside and outside back to the wood. We sand down and prepare the wood for painting, and we apply prime coat on all bare wood.

Putty replacement:
In this part we carefully remove old putty and any brads or pins which hold the glass in position. We replace it with new Linseed oil putty.

Glass replacement:
All broken, cracked or wrong size glass is replaced. Lower window with 4mm toughened glass and top windows with 4mm float glass.

Window furniture:
We fit period window furniture on all the windows including sash lifts.
